Pollok Social
The Comedy Connection
For the 2009 festival Pollok Social Club hosted a mini comedy festival in associateioin with Southside Festival.
They organised and promoted the gigs; got the audiences; got the performers and made the events terrific.
What did the festival organisers do? We had a laugh!
Simply a perfect satellte event!
Burgh Halls
Silent Movie?
The Scottish Cinema Organ Trust has installed a "Mighty Wurlitzer" in Pollokshaws Burgh Hall complete with flashing lights and all the trimmings.
When it's played along to a movie it's definitely not silent. The breadth of expression adds masses to the film.
Again this year the trust is running a special "satellite event" performance as their contribution to the festival.
